4. Disorganized behaviour
Schizophrenia disrupts goal-directed activity, causing impairments in a person’s ability to take care of him or herself, work, and interaction with others. Patients will show a decline in overall daily functioning and will exhibit behaviours that appear bizarre and have no purpose. They might start collecting things or obsessively clean their environment. They might also lack inhibition and impulse control leading them to exhibit unpredictable responses.
